The incident of Irene treating staff members poorly has come to light recently. Member of Red Velvet, Irene was accused for her poor attitude towards her stylists and staff members that are working behind the scenes.
Earlier this month, one of her stylists took the opportunity to expose her rude behaviour and acts through the social media platform, Instagram. It resulted for other industry insiders who encountered the same issues to share their experiences as well.
Controversies were sparked when all news media outlets started spreading the news rapidly and many fans started attacking her by leaving hate and malicious comments on her personal Instagram account.

“I am sincerely sorry to the stylist with my stupid attitude” said Irene from her apology statement. Some fans reacted positively and proceeded to provide encouragement to the following idol. However, some did not accept the apology and even asked her to leave her act.
All schedules such as music shows appearances, interviews and shootings were put on hold to cease the damage towards the group’s reputation. Her company, SM Entertainment also released an official statement to apologise on behalf of her careless act.
“We also feel responsible for this, and we'll not forget the hard work of all the people and staff who collaborate with us and our artists, and we'll try to prevent this from happening again to everyone who works with us. Once again, we apologize for causing concern." stated SM Entertainment.
